Lights in the dark
Sparks to die away
Life is only a trifle
Nothing to replay

He never has been patient
Now the walls are closing in
And his soul feels ancient
What caused this all?

Often he was tempted
To believe in fairy-tales
Now he sees how naïve
His reproaches were

Faith in everything
Believed what he was told
The mind of a child
