Violence culls us
Every empire falls and now our time has come

As I observe this madness from the confines of isolation
I begin to ask myself
Is there purpose in defiance?
I watch the masses elevate a masochistic patriarch of hate
Who's only aim is to laugh in the face of fate

In our misguidedness
We're ready to fucking rip this world apart
Humanity splits and throws the blame from side to side
What have we done?

Isn't it amazing how we're susceptible to triviality?
Like we're trapped in a dream and the horrors of the world do not exist
Intolerant to empathy
We shy away from doing the right thing

Holding hope in our hearts that everything will be okay
Shall we close our eyes and wish it all away?
Instead of taking chances to wake up
Why do we stay?

We believe the lies and deceit based on the hate in our own hearts
I can't believe we got this far
Look at us
We're at the pinnacle
Will we be revered as gods?
When will you realise that you're the perpetrator

Weak for words colliding with our insecurities
They take advantage so we're easier to segregate
In the name of divide and conquer

And when the end has come
We'll rise up from the ashes
Embracing the heat from the sun
Asking ourselves how did this come to pass?
