As the days drag into weeks,
I wait for death to free me,
While I wait trapped in this,
Jaded cage of my mind,
Mental words ripping me apart,
So slow so painfully.

My thoughts have gone against me,
The pain of my past memories,
Pushing me to the other side,
Slowly depriving of me of my sanity,
The nights are dark,
With so little shining stars,
I feel so cold and I have no light to guide me.

Buried in silence,
Hearing the screams so loud and clear,
Nothing but stillness,
The desolation so obvious before my eyes,
Only blankness,
I watch as it all fades away.
