Bodies in summer
Carrion in rivers
Sweet smell of rot in the air
Blood on the lips again

Heavy heads
Death is all around
In the summer
We watch the world unfurl

Swelling up with bile
Bleeding milk onto the grass
Lying down with a smile
Baring teeth covered in sap
Baby, stay for a while
As the day heaves and turns
And the Sun never dies
As the leaden ocean burns
