Could never stop the backbeat in my soul

And every time they told me
That it was only the fool
Who would waste their life in a backstage dive
For a good time and a tune i'd say.....

I was born and raised on rock and roll
I learned to sing off the radio
When your born and raised on rock and roll
You play it loud from the heart and soul

Well i really never made much money
But i sure learned a lot about life playing rock and roll
'cause i drove a million miles and copped a lot of styles
Playing one night stands 'til i couldnt get it up anymore

And every day i wonder
What it means to be secure
Do you think i'll ever find out
What the rest of my life means for sure?
