1 - The lyrics are not about drugs, but are about Debbie's car having no fuel left in the tank
(i.e. 'I'm on empty', not "I'm on ecstasy"!)
2 - In the verses where Debbie sings "I'm on E" just play in time to the lyrics using either a D4 block chord
(on 5th fret), or a simplified version of the intro riff. I doubt it really matters either way, it's only a
