Five o'clock on a Sunday morning
The sun was fighting with the night
Last night's whisky was winning
Sleep was in my sights
Wearily I climbed the stairs, searching for some rest
I heard a Seagull calling his children
As they slumbered in their nest
He Sang:
Darkness, sad times, stay away from our door
Heartache and loneliness, trouble us no more
Bad dreams and nightmares, they're all far behind us
Dark times and loneliness are gone for evermore
I know we've had our share of problems
I know we've had our little spats
We've got our home and our family
The children and the cats
I know you find life hard sometimes
It runs away so fast
Don't dwell too much upon what's coming
Leave the sorrow for the past
Because:
